Product Details

With multiple hub connections, the NOMA Crystalline and Amorphous 8 to 1 Solar Panel Hub is designed to connect up to eight solar panels, so you can maximize your power effectively. Ideal for cottages, RVs, sheds, or anywhere you want energy-efficient back-up power, this NOMA solar panel hub kit contains the panel hub itself plus four wires and eight wire nuts for easy installation with quick-connect technology. This solar panel hub can be used with both crystalline and amorphous panels, so it's useful no matter what type of system you are running. It safely combines multiple solar panels in parallel so you can easily maintain system voltage while increasing your amperage and wattage (up to 30A and 450W of solar power at 12V). Solar panels are beneficial for delivering renewable energy, for maintaining your power during outages, or for charging up your appliances and devices while on the road – all you need is a clear view of the sky. With this amorphous and crystalline solar panel hub, you can safely harness the power of up to eight solar panels in one. Solar panels sold separately.

    Good product.

Makes it easy to hook up multiple panels at one time.

    Works as it should

This works good for bundling 40-50-75 panels. I have 2 100 watt panels on it as well but 100’s will max it out quick. I ended up hooking panels in series to keep the amps down so I only had to use one of these.

It does its job but it would be nice if it included enough input wires for all 8 inlets.

Très satisfait de ce produit ! Ce n'est pas compliqué de connecter des panneaux solaires à ce multiplicateur. Très bon rapport qualité/prix.

    Works within it's stated limits.

Works just as it is supposed to . It has to be kept out of the rain which can be done easy enough. Mine never came with any wires . Would have been nice becasue if you fill it up and need to add a larger charge controller you will need at least one of those with bare wire ends . Only thing you may need is a heaver line to the charge controller if you fill it up. Great for the small 40 watt panels all connected in parallel without any thinking needed .

    Yes, I recommend this product.

Q: I recently purchased the 2 NOMA 100W Solar Kit with Stand & Charge Controller. These comes with the charge controllers, can i connect panel output into hub and then directly to battery. Or should i purchase another good solar charge controller.

    • A: Hope this helps. Bought NOMA 8 input hub last fall in prep for use summer 2021. Not yet used. Hub manual shows panels connect to hub, hub output goes to charge controller, and controller to battery.

Q: Can I use this item with 12 volt lithium iron phosphate Battery

    2 Answers
    • A: Yes you can. This is just a solar panel collector. It lets you plug in multiple panels into one change controller. You will need a charge controller that is meant for Lithium batteries. The ones that come with NOMA panels is not meant for lithium batteries. Search Victron 30 amp charge controller on Amazon they work great.

Q:  I would like to combine my two Coleman 40W panels using this hub and one of the Coleman 7 amp Solar Charge controllers.  Would this be compatible with the Noma hub? I will be charging two 6V in series to get 12v

    2 Answers
    • A: Yes, this will work well as long as you use a charge controller between the hub and your two 6V series (now12V) batteries to limit max voltage charging batteries.

Q: est-ce que le système de moyeux pour panneau solaire additionne l'énergie de chaque panneau ou tout simplement met le contact sur le panneau le plus performant des panneaux connectés ?

Q: Looking for a solution to charge 2-12 volt batteries in series to make 24 volts for trolling motor.  Was hoping I could connect 2 charge controllers out of the hub, one for each battery, but it does not look like that’s possible.  Solution?

    • A: There is only 1 output port. I see two options though…. 1) If you want to leave your batteries setup in series, Why don’t you also connect your panels in series (assuming they are 12v panels) instead and then run a single charge controller for 24V systems.  2) Take your batteries out of the boat and just connect your batteries in parallel then charge them with a standard 12V setup (using only one charge controller).   Batteries in parallel and the charger hooked up to the + on one battery and the - on the other for an even charge.  CAUTION - if you connect panels to all ports on this hub, you will need to beef up the gauge of wire going to the charge controller and battery.   The standard light gauge wiring and connectors CANNOT handle that many AMP’s.  I melted the connectors at my remote cabin but did not start a fire - luck only.  Hope this helps

Q: 1 - add says its a NOMA but the label in the image says Coleman - which is it? 2 - would this be a good unit for three 150w chrystaline panels in series? 3 - is the reason it's cheaper than the Coleman 30A controller because it does not have a display?

Q: Is it possible to mix amorphous and crystal together the paper said not recommended so what happen if I mix 4 solar panel crystalline 50 Watts each with 2 solar panel amorphous 50 watt each

    • A: Im going to disagree with the canadian tire team. Depending on the thin film or amorphius style, its suppose to be less wattage per sq ft not necessarily less voltage. However with the mono and poly at a fair price , why go with the thin film unless your supporting solar film on your windows.

Q: this hub allows the hook up multiple panels, increasing the amperage output, does it allow different size gauge wire on the output to the charge controller, my 4 panels = 22 amps, I should use 10AWG wire to the controller?

    1 Answer
    • A: The wire size is most likely decided by the size of the inserts that connect the wire to the hub. Some inserts come with the hub and some can be purchased. If the larger guage wire will fit in the insert, then it will fit in the hub.

Q: 1) I bought the solar hub and in the instruction they say the hub cannot be more than a 1 foot away from the charge controller. In my case it might be longer. What is problem with the distance. Is it line loss or other issues.

    1 Answer
    • A: It may cause issues in the system such as the panels not getting enough power to the battery and/or the charge controller may not function correctly.
