Great, but needs improvement

I got this for Christmas 2025. I mostly love and adore this blender but I do have a few of notes. 1.) The blend sense function is a gimmick at this point. By the time the blender “senses” the type of food you are blending, the food is puréed already. It could be user error, but I read the manual all the way through and this has just been my experience. 2.) It seems like this blender really only has one speed- HIGH. The speed will change once the blend sense has kicked in, but it takes too long and again your food is already puréed by then. There is a pulse function but I find it to be too high powered. If you want something to be large chopped, I recommend using the mode menu. There is some speed variation available there. Nevertheless, I still find it to be overpowered. 3.) I don’t recommend mixing dough in this blender unless it is a really wet dough. The first time I attempted mixing a dough, the blender started smoking. It was supposed to have a “add water” warning (or something like that) if the dough was too thick, but that warning never occurred and the blender started smoking. Thankfully, it didn’t break, but I’ve been cautious to mix dough in it ever since. I decided to write this review today because I finally worked up the courage to try mixing dough again, this time a very wet dough. The blender never smoked, but it shook like crazy and blended the heck out of my dough. All in all, this blender is great for smoothies and anything you want to purée. It’s also excellent for shredding and slicing. However, I cannot recommend this as a dough mixer. I’d love to see how the blend sense technology improves in newer models. Some of the issues I mentioned above could be due to user error, which I’m ready to admit lol. Nevertheless, if that is the case, maybe this blender could be made a little more user-friendly in the future since I did read the manual after all. Hope this helps!

Hi there, thank you so much for taking the time to share such a thoughtful and detailed review. We really appreciate you walking through your experience with the Detect blender. We’re glad to hear it’s been a great fit for smoothies, purées, and food prep like shredding and slicing. At the same time, we completely understand your concerns around BlendSense and overall speed control. Regarding dough, we’re really sorry to hear about the smoking incident, that must have been concerning. While the blender can handle certain doughs, it tends to perform best with wetter mixtures. Thicker, heavier doughs can put extra strain on the motor, which may lead to overheating or excessive movement. Making sure ingredients are well balanced with enough liquid and stopping periodically to check consistency can help reduce that strain. Your feedback about usability and clearer guidance is incredibly helpful, especially since you took the time to read through the manual and still found some challenges. That’s exactly the kind of insight we use to continue improving. If you’d like, our team can walk you through specific troubleshooting for your recipes or check that everything is working as expected: https://support.sharkninja.com/contact-us Thanks again for sharing your honest experience with us. Sincerely, Ninja Kitchen

Love it!!

This is such a cool machine. I really love how I can switch between a blender and a food processor. It’s so easy to use and works amazing! It’s lightweight and easy to use! It brings all the attachments that you need. It’s great for using it to make dips, spreads, butter, smoothies and so many other things.

Not for smoothies

I purchased this system to replace my previous 3-in-1 unit, which served me well for about 10 years. Unfortunately, the single-serve feature on this model has been TERRIBLE. I use the single-serve function almost daily for smoothies, and I have not been able to get consistent results. I’ve tried following the instructions exactly—adding liquid first, then leafy ingredients, then solids—but it doesn’t work. I’ve also experimented with reversing the order and even pre-mixing ingredients before blending, but nothing has improved the outcome. The machine frequently gets stuck and displays an error. I have to stop, shake, reset, and restart it multiple times just to get through one attempt. Frozen berries are especially problematic—they stop the blades completely and trigger errors. When it does blend, it tends to process only the ingredients near the blades because the mixture is too thick. If I add more liquid to compensate, the result is more like juice than a smoothie, which defeats the purpose. After a month of trying, I still haven’t been able to make a proper smoothie using the single-serve attachment. The full-size blender seems to work, and I haven’t yet tried the food processor. However, compared to my previous Professional 1500-watt system, the overall quality of this unit feels like a step down.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Hi Pablo, Thank you for taking the time to leave such a detailed review. It’s disappointing to hear that you haven’t been able to achieve consistent smoothie results despite trying different methods, especially when this was a feature you rely on daily. We also understand how this compares to your previous system and how important that performance is. Your feedback is incredibly valuable, particularly around the blending consistency, handling of frozen ingredients, and overall experience compared to earlier models. This will be shared with our internal teams as we continue to improve our products. In the meantime, we recommend referring to our self-help guide below for troubleshooting the issue you're experiencing: https://support.sharkninja.com/article/TB200-TB300-TB400-Series-Ninja-Detect-Power-Blender-Kitchen-System-Troubleshooting-Guide If the issue continues after trying those suggestions, please follow the instructions at the end of the guide to connect with our support team for further assistance. Kind regards, Ninja Kitchen

Parts break too fast

Good product overall, however after about a year the food processor and bullet broke. The gears inside are plastic and just sheared and with that processor and bullet are useless.

Hi Pat, Thanks for sharing your experience with us. We’re really sorry to hear that the food processor and single serve cup components didn’t hold up the way you expected, especially after about a year of use. This isn’t the level of durability we want for our products, and we appreciate you calling it out. Feedback like yours helps us improve where it matters most. We’d really like to take a closer look at what happened and see how we can help. When you have a moment, please reach out to our team here: https://support.sharkninja.com/contact-us Sincerely, Ninja Kitchen

Q: Will the smoothie cup make nut milks? Also, does the large pitcher blend really smooth?

1 Answer
  • A: This isn't designed for grinding ingredients. With this said, you can certainly blend nuts for nut butters; however, we don't recommend running the machine for extended periods of time to prevent overheating. The large pitcher can blend smooth.
