Horrible Design

Can't wait to return this thing. We've used nothing but Nespresso machines since 2010. Always been pretty happy with them and with the quality of the coffee. This new Up machine is HORRIBLE. We read all the reviews stating that there's water in the used pod collection tray and figured on it being true -- given how many people have reported it -- but, thought it would be okay for us since we empty our pods frequently and our machine is right next to the kitchen sink. Wrong! This doesn't collect just a little water; it's a lot of water. And, it's every single pod. We have to empty and wipe it out after every individual use and it's just not worth it. I think the move to having the pod go in on its side (like original line machines) is such a bad design choice and is definitely the reason this is happening. Additionally, the reviews stating that nasty water and coffee grounds spit out into your cup prior to the coffee actually brewing/pouring are absolutely true. Again, it's not just a little bit. It's enough to be gross. This is such a disappointment. The aesthetics are amazing and the 3-second heat up time is no joke! However, for us, Nespresso is about quality AND convenience. This machine misses both marks.

So impressed! Upgraded from a Nestle Dolce and oh my gosh feel like I'm living luxurious. So easy to use and simply effortless. I don't need to stand and watch in case it over flows. The app on my phone makes it easy to set it to the cup size I want so I can walk away and let it do it's thing. Service in store was exceptional! Coffee tastes amazing, a real treat without needing to pop to a cafe! Heats up fast, consistent and easy to connect.

Easy to use with lots of option

I bought this machine to replace the the SAMBRA Origin, as had great difficulty managing that machine with my wrist and turning the lever. (A handicap) I love the new Vertu Up it is so easy for me to manage. I also like the option for making special cold drinks.
