Q: Recently purchased Heat Star vertical vent kit, installed, cranked up heater and to my liking the double walled pipe going through roof in my garage seems to get way too hot.
2 years agoA: Thank you for your inquiry. The exhaust coming out of the back of an MHU unit is an average of 400 degrees, which means that the venting (especially near the heater) is going to get very hot. As long as the heater is vented in line with local codes, there should be no risk of any issue.
