    A good solid cart

This seems to be quite a solid cart and fairly easy to put together. The bottom is large enough to put my small 3lb compressor plus a medium sized tool bag. There is about 16" of clearance in the bottom tray - I didn't see that posted anywhere, so I thought I'd mention that. This cart is just what I needed for my cordless impact wrench, socket sets and air compressor. Very handy in the garage. The locking mechanism is inconvenient, but I think it may be related to safety - just like why you can't open more than one drawer on a large filing cabinet - it could tip and hurt someone.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

    More Interlock problems

I purchased this on the weekend to improve my car maintenance tool storage, it is definitely exactly what I wanted aside from one problem: The spring that holds the interlock bar up when the top tray is open is not strong enough to lift the bar high enough to unlock the bottom drawer. I like the ability to lock in my tools so I haven't decided if I want to bend the tabs yet, or attempt to stretch the spring to allow me to open the drawer. In the meantime I just reach under the table top and lift the bar to open the drawer. I like the product so much that I am tempted to get a second one to use as a plant maintenance station.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

    Revolutionize your workspace

I was staring at this unit for a while and while it caught my eye the regular price was just too high for me to justify but as soon as it went on sale I jumped into action and bought. Let me tell you, I have not been disappointed, this thing kicks butt. As a dedicated amateur I work my tools pretty hard and I'm in the garage all weekend, every weekend throughout summer so this thing has rolled across the driveway a lot. Normally it carries a pair of routers, my beloved bosch jigsaw and a cordless circular saw in the upper compartment, then in the bottom there are 2-3 cordless drills and a pile of clamps while the drawers hold all my boring old hand tools. I wouldn't want to hazard a guess on the weight this cart hauls for me, but it's never flexed or wobbled. A must-buy for my shop, and I've just purchased my second!

    Yes, I recommend this product.

    Better alternative than a chest

Got this so I could roll my tools to my bike or boat or car. The sliding top is the best feature for working on an auto. The drawers are quite deep and the centre bin is as well. Feels very sturdy and rolls very very easily. I was going to buy a mechanics tool chest, but this is a much better option for me for the amount of hand tools I have.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

    Questions

    1 - 6 of 6 Questions

Q: How much weight can I put on the top shelf? I am pulling apart my engine soon (350 Olds), and was wondering how much weight the very top shelf can handle when closed? I need a cart to put my cylinder heads on, the crankshaft by itself, etc. The big parts.

    • A: I would probably get a cart with a fixed top. The top sliders look like fairly standard shelf sliders and are probably rated for enough weight, but I think the top might bend or buckle if you put enough weight on the wrong spot.
