What do you expect for $100?

Haven't used it yet, but definitely have an opinion. By far, the fairlead/cable design needs a rework. Without external snapring pliers, you are going to have to pretty well destroy one snapring on one roller (bush repair, not on bench at shop). Fortunately, snaprings are made from soft, low quality steel and are therefore easily bent and hammered back into shape for re-use. The issue? The fixed hook on the cable cannot be fed between the rollers on the fairlead, necessitating the removal of one roller. Apparently, anyone with a pencil and a napkin can design a totally useless set-up, not having to worry about going through the time and expense of obtaining an engineering degree.

Good budget winch.

The winch works as expected. As other reviewers indicated, I also could not feed the hook through the guide rollers until removing 1 snap clip from a roller and removing the roller. A very robust electrical setup.

Poor Hook Design

a year ago

Installed on a trailer. Unable to feed hook and cable through the rollers as it won’t go through. Have to either unwind entire cable or remove and reinstall a roller. Terrible design. Other winches have a removable hook to allow cable to feed through the roller. Not sure what happened here.

No, I do not recommend this product.
