works great and serves the purpose

A great warranty on the motomaster products, they will give a refund if it stops working and even without a receipt. We had this happen to an inverter we bought that later stopped working and we had no receipt and they gave us a credit we used on another one.My husband is a long haul trucker and uses this to run his microwave and more.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

Works Great - But Need Cables

I'm not sure who they're marketing this to exactly, it's a very powerful inverter but doesn't include hookup cables, and nowhere in the store could I find cables to use other than booster cables. The manual also states to not go longer than 5' or the cables will heat up. Quite strange as it's impossible to find booster cables that short. I went ahead and got heavy duty 4 gauge boosters at 12' and they work fine. Perhaps some more insight by the R&D department?

    Yes, I recommend this product.

Q: Is it safe to use this inverter at full load when connected to a vehicle battery while the vehicle is running?

    1 Answer
    • A: Not sure what you mean by safe? The inverter is capable of running a full load indefinitely. Running full load continuously would mean your constantly drawing over 100A from your battery and alternator (and that does not include what your vehicle is consuming for normal electronics). Whether your alternator is capable of keeping up with this load or whether it could result in alternator and/or battery damage is impossible for us to say. It depends on several factors related to your vehicle design. If you truly intend on running such high load continuously, you should really consider adding an auxiliary battery and isolator and potentially even upgrading your alternator.

Q: Does the output voltage vary depending on the input voltage (as the battery voltage drops as it discharges), or is it a well-regulated constant output voltage?

    1 Answer
    • A: Output voltage range is 115 VAC +/- 10%.

Q: What is the usable input voltage range for this inverter? The actual voltage of a 12V car battery varies from close to 14V when fully charged to below 11V as it discharges. Over what range will the inverter still output 120VAC at full power?

    1 Answer
    • A: The operating input range is 11-15 VDC.

Q: Can it run a 700W microwave? I want to use in my truck

    1 Answer
    • A: The 700W you mention is most likely the "cooking power" and not the actual power consumption of the microwave. Actual power consumption will be significantly higher than the cooking power. Please check what the actual power consumption is - usually this is located on a label on the rear of the microwave. If it is under 1500W, then this inverter has sufficient capacity to run it.

Q: Can this inverter be used to power an LCD TV?

    1 Answer
    • A: This inverter produces a modified sine wave. Most TVs will run on a modified sine wave but it could result in some audible or electrical noise from the TV. Again, most TVs will run on a modified sine wave but only your TV manufacturer (or trial) can say for certain. Certainly an inverter such as MotoMaster Eliminator model 011-1892 which produces a true/pure sine wave (like that from your wall outlet) would run the TV without issue and more efficiently.

Q: Can this be used to power a Cpap machine for 8 hours a night

    1 Answer
    • A: There are two parts to this question/answer. The first revolves around whether or not this inverter is compatible with a CPAP machine. At 1500W, it certainly has more than enough capacity to power a CPAP machine. However, this inverter uses a modified sine wave which your CPAP machine may not be compatible with. You would have to check with the manufacturer of your CPAP to see whether it will run on a modified sine wave. We would highly recommend using an inverter with a pure sine wave (similar to the clean AC power that comes out of the outlet in your home) such as MotoMaster Eliminator model 011-1892. The second part revolves around your 8 hours a night question. The inverter has no bearing on time - all it does it convert 12V DC battery power into 110V AC power. How long something can run depends entirely on how much battery you connect the inverter to. A marine deep cycle battery (such as MotoMaster Nautilus 010-2498) could certainly provide enough power to run a CPAP for 8 hours.

Q: It says it comes with cables! Where are the cables?

    1 Answer
    • A: This is a special edition 1500W model (299-5299) that includes the bonus battery cables. The packaging would be specially marked indicating that bonus cables are included. If yours does not have cables, it is possible you purchased the regular 1500W model (011-1866) that does not include battery cables???
