Q: Will this drain the battery while there are no USB devices connected?
5 years agoA: There would be a very, very small current drain. If the vehicle/battery is in regular use, it would be inconsequential. If the vehicle/battery is in storage, period charging would be suggested, no more so than you would normally do to offset the battery's natural self-discharge.

Q: Are the USB slots different amps? If so which is which?
5 years agoA: The total amps available from both ports combined is 3.1A. So if you have one device plugged in and it's drawing, say, 2.1A, then the most you can get out of the other will be 1.0A.
