    Questions

    1 - 2 of 2 Questions

Q: Where, on the coupler, is it suggested that the cable (with its ring) be attached? REF 040-6509-0 There is no (for example) bolt that can be removed to allow the cable to be attached. Therefore my thinking is to use a nylon cable tie to attach the cable elsewhere.

    1 Answer
    • A: Typically, a trailer coupler is bolted to the tongue of the trailer with two or three hexagonal head bolts. If your coupler is bolted to the tongue, remove the nut and use these bolts for a suitable location to secure the tether of the pin. Of course, the tether is a non-functional convenience component to the pin and is not required; as a last resort, you could secure it to the tongue using a locking nylon strap, as you have suggested. For reference, the inner diameter of the eye on the tether cable is 9/16" (1.4 cm).
