A Couple Squirts Will Do It!

Sprayed on an extremely sulfated battery connector in -18 Celcius weather! Let it sit for 8 minutes, used a toothbrush and scrubbed the corrosion easily away then dumped a jug of hot water over to rinse off the crud. Worked very good and I did eventually remove the battery cable not that I had to but I wanted to use a battery post cleaner and scuff up the post to.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Questions

1 - 4 of 4 Questions

Q: Do I need to remove the battery from the car? Acid is around the connectors. Is it as easy as it looks?

3 Answers
  • A: I just used it right on the connectors, but if you can take the connectors off with a wrench, and clean one at a time, it will work better to get the corrosion off between the connector and battery post.

Q: Electrical Contact Cleaner? Would this be considered a good contact cleaner for corroded electrical fuses in the engine bay of a car? I've looked through the Ct website for a specific electrical cleaner and I'm surprised I haven't found one.

1 Answer
  • A: Unless they have discontinued it, Canadian Tire does sell an electrical contact cleaner (provided by another company) under the Motomaster brand that would be more appropriate to use than the Motomaster battery cleaner.
