Motomaster Battery Tester 011-3003-0: Without a single scratch on the exterior, the heating element quit working after less than a dozen - 10 second uses. Only the voltage meter and switch continue to function.
No, I do not recommend this product.

merci beaucoup de m'éclairer. J'ai de bonnes connaissances mécanique mais je souvent vus des oncle ou ami utilisé cette outil sans jamais l'utiliser moi-même. ma question est simple cette appareil fait quoi comme test sur la batterie. Partout où j'ai été témoin de l'utilisation de ça on appelait ça le tosteur mai pour vrai tout les fois bien les batterie tester n'était plus bonne donc j'ai pas de comparaison a faire. J'ai investi beaucoup d'argent pour 2 batterie 6v pour mon vr après avoir utilisé plusieurs années été hiver et j'ai seulement tester le voltage mais je sais qu'il a d'autres choses importantes à voir cette outil fait tu ses tests supplémentaires et quelqu'un pourrait til m'expliquer ses quoi et à quoi cela est différent d'un simple voltmètre.

A: Not worth $100 at that price go get a inductance battery tester, it will be cheaper for a consumer grade one and as easy as plug and play no charging checking voltage etc.

A: Its window shows different CCA measured from 200 to 1000. So if the needle swings low on 200, your battery is at 200CCA. If the needle swings to 1000, then your battery is measured at 1000! You don't know what condition your battery is at, so the measure will tell you. You expect your battery to be 900 but only measured at 200, then your battery needs to be replaced.

A: You can use this load tester as one check of your battery's health. If it fails the load test, your battery is bad and should be replaced. If it passes the load test with this tester, then you can move on and test the batteries deep cycle capacity. However, there is no tester that will test a battery's deep cycle capacity - you simply have to compare how long it runs a load compared to how long it should run that load if the battery was new. Make sure you've fully charged the battery and allowed it to rest for 12 hours. Test the capacity of the battery by applying a known load and measuring the time it takes to discharge the battery until 20% capacity is remaining (i.e. 12.00V). For example, if you have an 80-ampere-hour rated battery, then a load of four amps would discharge the battery down to 20% in about 16 hours. In this example, if your battery drains down to 20% in about 8 hours (compared to the 16 hours it should take) then your battery is only capable of 50% of its rated capacity. That's bad and should be replaced. Rule of thumb is that once a deep cycle battery can only delivery less than 50% of its rated Ah capacity, it’s time to replace it.

Q: should this machine smoke when hooked up for the first few times?

A: It is not uncommon to see some smoke on the first few uses if there is foreign matter on the resistor element. Remember, you should only apply the loads for 10 seconds and then allow the unit to cool down for 5 minutes or you could permanently damage the unit.

Q: How does this unit differ from 11-3813-2? CT also has a Nocco that looks identical to this 11-3003-0 MotoMaster Model. Is this also made by Nocco? Does it differ from 11-3813-2? The meter display is identical.

A: Both units offer the same features but this is true of most of these load-type battery testers that you’ll find in the market. There may be differences with internal componentry, product finish, etc. The MotoMaster unit is not made by NOCO.

A: This product is used to test cranking power but will not tell you how many cold cranking amps are actually available from your battery. For that, you would need a digital conductance type battery tester such as Schumacher Electric model 11-3005.
