Great cooler

Worked exactly as described. Thermostat on coldest setting kept contents at about 2 degrees C even on hot days. The 30 degrees below ambient is a hard feature to find.
Used for 5 months as an overflow fridge in RV while wintering down south.
Handles are a little tight to the body of the cooler to carry comfortably when filled, but we rarely move it in the RV anyway.
Highly recommended.

Didn't last long

It worked great and could get beer to near freezing, it wasn't one of the cheap worthless ("20° below ambient temp") coolers. You could adjust to desired temp and the only noise was the cooling fan, no compressor noise. The problem, with mine at least, it only lasted 2 summers. I still have it but haven't had time to rip it apart to see what it needs for repair. It would be nice to know if other owners got greater longevity out of theirs.

Exceeded My Expectations

We bought this cooler about 2 years ago and it has been in constant use since. The 30 degree below ambient has been shown to be pretty accurate. Last summer, it rode on my tent trailer towed behind my motorcycle and ran off the motorcycle battery. We always had cold food and drink. When not on a camping trip, it sits in the corner of the kitchen as an overflow fridge, hence the continuous use for 2 years.

A: nope, the thermostat inside stops it at 1c. It will stay frosty for a while but not frozen solid. It does make your drinks ice cold.

A: yes all the time, and it remembers the last thing you set it to so if you move it from the car to the house, trailer etc it just continues doing what it was doing.

Q: How much heat does it produce and how long is the power cord. I would like to keep one of these in the trunk of my car for when I'm going grocery shopping. Keeping perishables and frozen food cold. How much heat does the cooler produce and how long is power cord?

A: It does get warm and needs to be in a vented area to work well. Its ok in the truck of my car on long trips as long as you don't block the fan. It isn't enough to heat up my tent trailer or anything like that as it does work slow. Don't expect to put in a warm drink and come back in a hour and have a cold one. Over night and it will be ice cold.

Q: Why so expensive compared to others?? I see nothing in the listed features that would justify why this particular cooler carries such a high price premium compared to other thermoelectric coolers. Why is the price so much higher than other similar sized units?

A: Try buying one of the cheep ones first like I did and then try this one. 10c doesn't sound like a lot but when i was camping when it was 36c outside and this still got my drinks down to 1c. My "old" one that only went to 20c could never do that. I just it for stuff that needs to be cool and not cold. Buy a better one and don't waist your money on the other or you'll end up having two like me.

Q: What happens in the winter does the termostat automatically adjust to prevent food from freezing ?

A: The TC35 DC/AC is the only cooler model with an adjustable temperature. If the room temperature drops, the setting on the cooler should be adjusted accordingly. Less cooling power is needed. The LED lights on the temperature display indicates the cooling power. Reduce the number of LED lights that are showing until the correct temperature has been set. The cooler will come on/ turn off as needed to maintain this temperature.
