I am Impressed, this Charger/Maintainer WORKS WELL

I usually laugh at ridiculous request to review my latest purchases, like rags,batteries,light bulbs. However this motomaster charger maintainer right out of the box Impressed me by it's performance. Car alternator failed,so in the process I did not want to strain or drain my battery. I plugged in the new charger and withing hours it had my battery full and maintained it for several days until I could get to the shop. I know this is only one use but hopefully it lasts a longtime. This in My Opinion is worth having.

I bought this last week when it was on sale. I owned an Audi A4 and it was a bit of a struggle to find the connectors in the front of the car since the battery was in the back. Once I hooked it up it worked great. Only thing was I do not know if it shuts off automatically

Q: My 2021 car will be  outside from Jan-April with temps ranging from-10 to -35 degrees. If my battery is fully charged when I start using the charger in January, do you think it will maintain the charge or is it still possible for the battery freeze?

  • A: Yes this should keep you battery topped up and prevent freezing. Obviously whoever wrote for CTC doesn't know the drains of electronics as I have seen brand new cars deplete their battery to the point of a winter time (-30C) no-crank from sitting a couple weeks.

  • A: Yes, its a maintainer as well as a charger. Its meant to keep on batteries over the winter or for long periods of time.

Q: I have a Gel battery. Can I leave this unit plugged in while I'm away for 10 days? Also what is the max charge rate ?

  • A: Yes you can leave it plugged in. When fully charged the charger maintains a float charge. The maximum charge current this item will provide is 6 amps.

Q: I used this once on my car it worked great. I then tried to use it on my truck battery and came up with a fault. Now it doesn’t work on any battery just straight to a fault.
