First, make sure you always gently mix (for at least 60 seconds) before you apply and. This made it very easy to apply and I ended up with a perfectly even matte finish after only two coats.

A: Hello. Thanks for asking. It depends on what type of project. For surfaces that will not be walked on, after the final coat, allow 24 hours before light use. When used on hardwood floors/stairs, avoid heavy traffic and replacing of furniture for 72 hours after final coat. Do not install rugs or clean floors for 7 days. Sincerely, Minwax Customer Support
