Product Details

Automatically raise and lower your anchor at the touch of a button. DeckHand 40 has a 40-lb anchor capacity (anchor not included). Pre-spooled with 100 feet of 800-lb test nylon rope. Universal davit can be mounted at base of DeckHand or in remote position on boat deck. Davit also stows anchor horizontally to eliminate anchor swing. Anchor shackle allows for quick changes between anchors. A special anti-drag system senses the bottom to allow for controlled drifting. Runs on 12-volt battery (not included). Remote accessory (sold separately) allows for 25' corded remote operation. DH 40 is designed to work with anchors weighing at least 20 lbs and not more than 40 lbs.

Nothing but trouble

Very disappointed.... First trip out .. the little clevis that connects the anchor to the chain broke and my anchor now lays on the bottom of the lake. Put a new anchor on with a bigger clevis.. the rope on the spool got so tangled up that I had to take the unit apart and cut the rope several times because it jumped over the spool and wrapped around the shaft... Remounted the unit 7 times trying to find a way where the rope won't jump the spool ... No luck. Very poorly built alot of plastic parts .... For the price of this unit it's not worth it. Minn Kota will be getting this one back as I intend to return it to the store and find a better brand somewhere else

Deck Hand 40 parts

I bought the Deck Hand 40 last fall with plans to mount it last spring. I put it on the floor of the boat for winter storage and in a moment of brain fade forgot to pull the drain plug. One of the brushes got damaged trying to clean up the unit. How do I get a new set of brushes?

A: The Deckhand 40 can use between a 20 and 40 lb. anchor. I would advise checking with the boat manufacturer as to what size anchor they recommend to hold the boat.

A: No, it does not come with one but there is an optional 25’ corded remote available. Canadian Tire does list it. Product number 078-1350.
