DON'T BUY!

I purchased two of these bird feeders. I took them back after a week. The design is not good and allows the seed to flow out and go all over the ground below. Both of my bird feeders were nearly empty in two days, but the seed was all over the ground because of little wind or birds flying onto and off the hanging feeder. It has a great appearence and is very durable, but I caution you about this particular model unless you wish to feed the mice!

Beautiful, but not squirrel proof

This feeder is beautifully hanging in my backyard. However, it is not squirrel proof. So I have to keep it in the house temporarily until I figure out what I should do with it.

Durable & Reliable

Pros: -- Metal frame & cord with plastic windows --Smaller birds like the sparrows seem to prefer the perch & you are more likely to get 3 or 4 birds on this one at once --Easy fill (there's a button that allows you to life the lid along the metal cord) --Pretty design makes for a pleasing backdrop whether you do photography of the birds or not --Simple to clean & maintain Cons: --Large openings so a lot of wasted seed from the birds --Bigger birds (ex: Grackles) can land on the feeder & use it --Not squirrel proofed --Lid doesn't always 'snap closed' like it should so you have to be careful. Overall it's a nice feeder that I've been using year round for the last year with my biggest complaint being the size of the 'feeding' ports. My husband & I are going to look at making something to restrict the seed flow. Happy birding! :)
