Product works very well if used properly. This is my second purchase. I use it one per year. One kit lasts a long time. There’s no need to go overboard with the detail spray. One downside is that my previous purchase came with a plastic case in which to keep your clay bars. Not the situation anymore. Shrinkflation.

Q: My car is white: do I need to worry about scratching the paint or glass? and do I need to apply wax or some other product afterwards? Thank you.

  • A: As long as you are ensuring that the clay is  being folded over and always used on a lubricated surface you shouldn’t scratch the surface. Claying your car will contribute to stripping any wax or sealer from the paint surface and some type of wax or sealer should be applied afterwards.

Q: How long does the clay bar lasts?

  • A: It depends on the shape or cleanliness of your cars paint. You need to wash properly first (top down) then a small amount of clay bar goes along way. I have a larger vehicle so a 1/4 stick works for me. Work the clay it in your hands first, lube the area well and with medium pressure (not hard) rub away. Can be used on all panels and exterior sides of windows. Once lots of grit or contaminated can be seen fold it in on itself and continue. Once its full of specs throw it away. First few times you will use more, once its been done you will use less. I clay once every year. Hope that helps!

Q: Does anyone know if the clay bar takes of baked on bug splatters from the front bumper?

  • A: Clay is designed to remove bonded contaminants from the surface. It often does well with bug if they are simply stuck on the surface. If they have "baked" on for some time they may also leave etchings/stains behind in which case something like a compound will be necessary to remedy. Our Ultimate Compound would be a great option. Q: is this the best product to clear headlight lens? Which product is available that includes drill disk pads?

  • A: Although clay could be used on headlights to remove some bonded contaminants from the surface it really is not the best option for headlights in need of attention. Your best bet is going to be our Heavy Duty Headlight Restoration Kit which is available through Canadian Tire.
