Useless Product

This tool`s purpose is to turn round products and materials whether solid or hollow. For bolt heads, that is what an adjustable wrench is for. Poorly designed for 2 reasons; - The V groove rather than a C groove in both gripping heads cannot follow the circumference of the round object that is to be turned therefore cannot apply even pressure - The gripping teeth are missing on the back half of both heads again meaning the tool design cannot apply even pressure. Combined, means this tool design would take a pipe out of round. As Maximum is C/T professional grade for tradesman the designers have clearly missed the mark to what this tool was meant for and apparently some homeowners as well. Can`t what for version 2.0

Locking mechanism is not engeneered correctly...

I gave this a failing grade because of the locking mechanism that locks the pliers closed for storage. The first package I purchased, the smaller set would not lock consistently and the switch spring was not strong enough to keep the switch engaged. When I exchanged them for another package, the large set failed on the third attempt to lock it in front of a customer service rep. The smaller set on the new package was only slightly better than the first. I don't like the idea that this tool might suddenly spring open when I go to reach for it and smack my fingers. I kept the small one from the second set and the large one from the first, but I'm not overly pleased that the lock switch does not always work. I would have bought another brand, but none other was available of this self adjusting design. Not even at the other hardware stores I went to. I would only recommend this because there just isn't another tool in my area that self adjusts like this... I went to several hardware stores to find it and this was the only choice I had.

Awesome pliers

Maximum Self-adjusting pliers Are a must have for anyone's toolbox. Highlights of this product included the ability to use it with one hand thanks to a spring load handle, the locking jaw that activated once pressure was applied and a solid built tool that carries a lifetime warranty backed by Canadian Tire.
