Q: How is this an assisted knife? I purchased this knife, and there's no spring to assist in opening it. why is it called an assisted knife?

  • A: For some strange reason assisted opening knives fall into the same catagory as "switchblades" in Canada. I guess the law was designed like most laws, by somebody who didn't know what they were talking about. Anyway, switchblades are illegal in Canada and therefore assisted opening blades are as well. Of course, I can wear my hunting knife if I'm going in the woods; I have a walking stick containing a blade that I bought legally in Hamilton, either of which can kill but for some strange reason we are not permitted the convenience of being able to open our blade with one hand.

  • A: When you open the blade to use it ,you can turn it Sharp Sid up . Look where the handle and blade meet/fold . There is a metal bar that is spring loaded and when you open the knife it moves to block the knife from closing . Use your thumb to push it sideways (to the side with the gap on one side of the handle ant you can fold the blade back into the handle …

Q: How do you get it to fold? Put it into unlock, then what?

1 Answer
  • A: I figured it out. In the handle there’s a silver piece of metal that you have to push to one side to allow it to fold. It’s fiddly and not at all obvious.  They really should provide instructions on how to fold it with the knife.
