Not fine enough for finishing marble vanity

I used these with the Simoniz 7" variable speed polisher at 600 rpm to remove etching (from vinegar spill) in a marble vanity. Starting with the 3000 grit it removed the etching but it left swirls from each of the little polishing nubs on the pad. I needed a finer grit to take those swirls out and ended up getting a set of pads that had a full contact surface (like a sponge). Starting with the 3000 grit from that set, it removed all of the swirls. Then I used 6000 and 1000 grit which very quickly brought it to a mirror finish.

Overall a good product. I used these on ceramic tiles and they did a good job. Some of the pads lost a few pieces but they still work for my application.

Q: What power tool are these diamond polish pads meant to be used with?

A: You can’t use a standard angle grinder with this product because it is rated for no more than 4000 RPM. The typical angle grinder runs anywhere from 9000 to 13000 RPM. The adapter on this kit will blow apart at this speed. Recommended tool for this polishing kit is a buffer/polisher tool. Similar to an angle grinder, but runs at about 3000RPM. Alternatively, you could use an angle grinder with a variable speed setting if you can set it below 4000 RPM. These are not very common though.

A: These polish pads can be attached to the Hand-held sander, such as 054-7135(MX 10A Heavy-Duty 2-in-1 Sander/Polisher, 7-in).

A: No, these cannot be used on an angle grinder. The maximum rotation speed of 0541874 is 4500 rpm, and the maximum rotation speed of angle grinder is usually at 10000 rpm, which is higher than our safe rotation speed. We recommend 0541874 be used with the polisher, which has a maximum speed of less than 4000 rpm. For example, 0541874 can be used with 039-9013-6 (Simoniz Sander & Waxer Kit, 7-in), it can also be used with 039-6535-2 (Simoniz Platinum Corded Polisher, 7-in).
