For the price I can't complain. It takes a while to pump the water out of the back yard but it does the job. Easy hook up to the garden hose.

Q: Can it be used to drain water from a bog? Will the pump work in a bog or will the leaves and sediment cause blockage and render the pump ineffective?

A: You always must protect the input or suction side of the pump with a filter screen. I have often used the nylon screen used for screen doors. The screen size allows water through readily but stops larger particles. Purchase a square yard of screen and make a sack out of it by folding up the four corners around the pump. Bring the discharge hose and the power cord out the top of the sack then tie firmly around the hose and wire with some plastic type twine. The screen will need cleaning occasionally.

Q: Will this pump water from on top of a winter pool cover..ie: no flat surface for it to sit on?

A: It has decent weight to it and a pretty flat bottom so if you can get it to stand up right it should be able to do it no problem, it moves a lot of water for the amperage of pump that it is.

A: Yes and quite quickly. I have it attached to a 55 gallon rain barrel and it can empty the whole thing in about 3 minutes.

A: Unit takes regular garden hose. It is not included - just attach a regular (standard) size garden hose.

A: I used 130 feet of 12 gauge heavy duty extension cord with very little line voltage drop. Low 260 watts running wattage. It would be an issue if running 1500+ watts. Yes recommended no extension, but worked okay for me.

A: I've used it on a non-GFI outlet a few times. The included instructions don't mention anything about GFI.

A: At the widest spot it's about 6.25 inches across. It's about 13 inches from the base to the top of the outlet.
