Q: I have a similar quantity Mastercraft ratchet/wrench set from 2012 that recently the case latches have finally ALL broken. I realize they no longer sell the case that I own, but would I be able to get this case as a warranty replacement? Size looks right.
3 years agoA: I don’t see why not? It is a mastercraft after all. Don’t they warrant their stuff for life? Or is that just the tool itself? But in this case, the case is a tool also… I’d say. Contact customer service?

Q: hex bits on 233-piece set are rusting, is this normal? I just have the set for more than a month now, hex bits are starting to rust.
11 years agoA: Yes this is normal as this is a cheap poorly built set that is not coated to protect against rust.

Q: Mastercraft vs Maximum? What is the difference in quality between the regular mastercraft brand socket sets and the Mastercraft Maximum sets?
15 years agoA: Both are of exceptional quality with lifetime warranties but it comes down to your needs in the end. If your a DIY mechanic working on a few cars here and there, regular Mastercraft tools are more than capable of doing the job well each time. If you rely on your hand tools to make a living you want the added strength of an enhanced tempering process. When you use them all day, every day for repairs that extra strength is needed but anything is possible over time hints why the Maximum series of tools also carries a full lifetime warranty. As a DIY mechanic myself I prefer having the toughest of tools still and will be smart about my work to save things i.e using a breaker bar / flex handle instead of stressing my ratchet gears with hammering or a cheater pipe. FYI, even the most well known brands world wide for hand tools can break so all it comes down to in the end is the warranty offered by the manufacturer.

Q: In the user manual, some sockets are listed as 6PT and some 12PT and the the size or depth didn't correlate to one another, so what does it mean?

Q: Hi, what are the smallest Torx sizes? Are they screwdriver hex drive bits, or screwdrivers?
6 years agoA: The Mastercraft 233 pc set comes with both Torx bit sockets (smallest is T15) and Torx screwdriver bits (smallest is T10).
