    Blasts great but poor QA

I bought this two days ago and already might have to exchange it twice. The first one I got had been smashed in on the side so the door wouldn't close during packaging. The box looked perfect. The second one came with cracked door glass and the light died within an hour. There were also a number of other small issues ( silicone sealant to keep sand in the cabinet comes off if you look at it, light connector into the cabinet is cracked in half, etc. ) It blasts great. I just wish I could convince the cabinet to keep up.

No, I do not recommend this product.

    WORKED GREAT

The blasting cabinet came out the box as expected. the light works and has for several hours of use now, no issue so far as per other reviews. I have tried Crushed glass 20-30, glass bead B7 and BT13. all have worked well. I brought 50lb bags of media. i put in about 15lbs-ish in the machine (basically filled the base to just below the mesh floor). I have gotten a beautiful finish on the parts I was ether paint stripping, restoring or simply creating a peened/textured finish from the glass bead (b7). I have blasted Alloy, carbon steel and stainless steel. On Aluminum you should dial the pressure down a touch and/or blast from a further distance as it pits fast. Carbon and stainless i ran 100psi at the compressor and held the nozzle close. I used the smallest nozzle for all my work as i'm not doing large areas. For the large nozzle i would imagine more PSI might be needed. Its trial and error until you find what is right for the job you doing. I also noted that with the super fine glass media (BT13) that it was clumping in the base of the machine due to high moisture in the air and line. This was not a problem with the machine. I would only recommend, glass bead, crushed glass, walnut (polishing), corncob (polishing), aluminum oxide, copper and coal slag, soda in this machine. I would not use steel shot etc. Sand blasting is not a simple thing, you need to learn you psi, and the media your using. any bad reviews on this machine were operator error for the most part. Read the manual! I do however hope the light holds up as its an needed feature.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

Q: Is the light shown in the picture included?

    3 Answers
    • A: The light was included. It works fairly decently, but you'll have to lift the lid to get a good look at whatever you are blasting for areas that require a bit more work. Hooking up a shop-vac helps immensely with visibility.

    • A: the easiest way to connect it without an adaptor is with foil tape used in heating and air systems. its cheap, seals nicely and cuts easily

Q: Gun won't syphon Brand new, I cannot get the sandblast media to syphon through the gun, I am using the sandblast media that came with it. I have no air leaks running my compressor at 80 psi. My compressor produces 15.4 cfm.

    • A: A damp media, or slight kinking of the hose can prevent media from getting sucked up. I noticed with mine that I had to continually sweep media back to the middle so it could get sucked up. You either have to lift it from side-to-side to move the media, or use it without the metal screen installed and sweep media back to the middle to it can be sucked up by the hose.

Q: Are there lights or replacement lights available for the sandblaster

    2 Answers
    • A: The power supply for my light failed after about one hours usage and I replaced it with a quality 12vdc 750ma unit. I had to move the plug from the failed unit to the replacement unit. My repair is still working a several hours usage.
