not worth it

one of the two drive belts wandered off the pulley and jammed the spindle. This machine is sold under at least a dozen different names and companies but only one in the UK had replacement belts. I ended up ordering belts from China and after installing found out that in the few seconds it took to shut the machine off, the tiny dc motor had burnt out.
No, I do not recommend this product.

If i could give zero stars I would. The rubber drums simply don`t grip the sanding sleeves at all and make the tool useless. Also, there are no replacement sleeves available for the largest drum. Seriously? Waste of money. Canadian tire`s Maximum line seems to be pretty decent. The blue Mastercraft ones may as well be called Mastercrap in my opinion.
No, I do not recommend this product.

We are sorry you are not satisfied with this tool. We have not supplied this item for approximately 5-years to CT and this likely contributes to lack of availability for the sanding sleeves. There are specialty sanding suppliers on the internet and you may perhaps find the item you are looking for through them. I had a similar issue with an accessory for another major Canadian retailer and found it online.

Good sander, drums are expensive, plastic inserts and just minutely thinner for where they sit, but overall is is good

Not Bad For the Price

I bought this sander and used it on 3 projects - 2 outdoor chairs and one hardwood job which involved a cutting a perfect curve. To be fair, the hardwood was Brazilian Cherry (very, very hard!). Unfortunately the motor on this baby burned out (literally caught on fire!). I was trimming all the excess material I could with a jigsaw and bandsaw, but this little sander just couldn't take the hardness of the wood. I guess I'll have to move up to a more professional unit, but this little sander is really small and portable, which I what I liked about it in the first place.
No, I do not recommend this product.

A: I have used this unit to sand 2" cedar and 2" pine with no problem. Harder , more dense wood like oak or maple 1 1/2 inches thick works real well

Q: I was told that replacement sanding sleeves have been discontinued? Is this true? I have a Mastercraft oscillating spindle sander and I wish to purchase replacemet sleeves for the 6 size drums that came with the tool. I was told that the sleeves have been discontinued. Is this true? I want all the sleeves that fit from 1" - 3"

A: Not true! Before I paid for my sander, I checked to see that replacement sleeves were available. In the next isle, the helpful young man showed me a large selection of sleeves! So I purchased the machine.

A: Global Sourcing has shut down so parts are no longer available. Do not purchase as you can no longer get parts.
