Stand was easy to assemble and quite stable. Similar issue to others in that two of the set screws were missing and unfortunately, not available from Canadian Tire. Had to either return entire stand, or source replacements elsewhere.

Stable stand but missing key parts.

Stand is stable and works well with the grinder. It was missing two 10 mm set screws which unfortunately are not carried by Canadian Tire, so I had to find elsewhere or return the assembled stand.

Great stand but fix the thumb screw nut

This is a great product and definitely meets my needs. I have one for my heavy duty grinder. But I also use one as a stand for my Mastercraft drill press. I only gave it a 4 out of 5, because the nut for the thumb screw to go through to hold the inner shaft in place is cheap and easily breaks, so that I then have to redrill the hole and use my tap and die to thread the hole and purchase another thumb screw.
The manufacturer should instead spot weld a nut on the out shaft, so it will not break off.
That's my two bits. Thanks.

A: I'm not sure about the exact weight, but the base seems to be made of cast iron and the rest made of steel. By picking it up I would think somewhere around 20+ lbs.

Q: Can the stand be mounted to a base with wheels so it can be moved I would like to be able to move it around the shop. I have a large sturdy dolly (24" x 36") 3/4' plywood base with 4 lockable casters. Has anyone tried this?

A: This stand is not designed to be free-standing. The base must be secured to the floor or the area where the stand will be positioned. Do not fit the grinder or operate the grinder until the base is firmly attached. Otherwise, it will tip over.
