Mastercrap

I just bought it tonight and can only staple 1 out of 5 tries. Squeeze the trigger and nothing happens when I try to staple. Then it shoots out when i pull it back. Very dangerous. Bringing it back tomorrow.

Garbage

This ended up in my garbage can. Not bringing it back because I am not interested at all in discussing this. Never even got one sleeve of staples used. It just stopped working. It was a replacement for another cheaper stapler that also stopped working.

Best Stapler I have owned, again!

Had to buy another one of these!!! I lost my first one and decided to step up and buy the Stanly HD stapler..It was junk so I returned it and bought another one of these! The design just makes sense you are applying pressure to the nose of the stapler not the tail. All other staplers leave the staples hanging half out.

My Hopes Was Shattered

Owned for a little over a year... I was very excited about the design of this staple gun for the staple would exit where the pressure was applied, this would always cause a nice surface flush inserted staple because kick-back was eliminated. But unfortunately a little after a year it started to jam and it got so bad after a while that it would only get about 5 staples out before it would jam again. I didn't use it too often; I got through less than two packs of staples before I through it out.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Poor design for loading

I'm not sure if it is because I have large fingers but I have a hard time opening the slide. The black tail piece does not want to pull down!

Yes, I recommend this product.

Questions

Q: how do you use the wire attachment?

2 Answers
  • A: Slide that wire guide up and through the slot on the nose of the stapler. Push it up as far as it will go. It should now sit flush with the bottom of the stapler. Now when you place the stapler over a cable (like a telephone or coax cable) the guide straddles it and ensures you don't drive a staple through it. Pretty clever!

Q: How do you open the staple gun to put in refills

  • A: You are supposed to squeeze the black grip at the back of the stapler and gently pull downward and out. It's a poor design and often jumps out after firing.

Q: How do you load a Mastorcraft Contractor sure shot stapler

1 Answer
  • A: Pinch the black plastic corner with your thumb and pointy finger. Then, pull it straight down about a 1/4 inch, then slide it straight back of the stapler.

Q: How do you load brad nails in this thing? I can not figure it out for the life of me. I have had it for over a year and have lost the instructions. Loading staples I can do. Brad nails are a mystery.

1 Answer
  • A: The nails go into the same channel that the staples go; however, they go flat against the side of the staple gun that contains the window that allows you to see if there are staples or nails in the channel. In order to load the tool, pull out the staple/nail pusher and lay the gun down so that the side with the window is against the table. Then insert the nails into the channel against the side of the channel that is laying on the table and close the staple/nail pusher.

Q: Stop the Rust I have had some surface rust begin to form on the metal under trigger handle...any suggestions to deter this from forming? Is it easy to take apart so I could perhaps treat with a rust inhibiting paint?

1 Answer
  • A: As with any tool, you should limit the exposure to the elements (rain, extreme moisture, dampness). You could scrape away the rust or use CLR and use a rust inhibiting paint; however please keep in mind this sort of action would void all warranties.
