The Mastercraft 16 x 24" Framing Square boasts an aluminum body that resists corrosion over time as well as permanently stamped gradations for readability. In addition to a full set of ⅛” gradations, this Mastercraft framing square also features stamped-in conversion tables and rafter tables that allow you to easily convert between different systems of measurement. This framing square is compact, thin, and easy to transport or store.

Nothing wrong with the square but....

Someone at CT please read this. How do I use this square when I can't remove the label?? I tried scraping most of it off with an Olfa knife. No success. I resorted to solvent and brake clean and it still took 15 minutes. Please, please find a way to use removable labels on your products. This is a common problem on many items I've bought from you.

Boiling water and plastic putty knife required

Took a chance on couple of these despite the comments about the nasty sticker.
Was able to remove all but a thin film with no damage to the aluminum by pouring boiling water on it and scraping with a plastic putty knife.
Still, shame that vendor does this, and that Canadian Tire accepts it.

9 inches are UNUSABLE

As other reviewers have pointed out -the product sticker is IMPOSSIBLE to remove!
STICKER OBLITERATES 9 INCHES OF THE SCALE MARKINGS.
It's impossible to remove without scratching up the surface or wasting more than $20 worth of your time, trying to soak it off or use expensive label removers.
Returning this to CT ASAP
No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: several reviewers are stating that these squares are rusting, and that their coating is coming off... the description says that they are made of aluminum, so this shouldn't really be a problem... can you confirm what material these squares are made of?

A: This Framing Square is made of aluminum. The comments referring to rust are over 10 years old. We can confirm the product has a non-corroding aluminum body.
