Efficiently manage water in many areas with the Mastercraft 1/4-HP Submersible Utility Pump. Designed for temporary installation, this electric utility pump is ideal for removing water fast. Powered by a long-lasting, oil-free 1/4 HP motor, this submersible utility pump has a maximum flow rate of 1680 GPH (6359 L/h). This utility sink pump has a special intake screen that reduces the risk of clogging and pump damage by filtering out grit and other debris.
Perfect for removing water from pools, spas, flat roofs and flooded basements
The permanent split-capacitator motor has a lower amperage, keeping the motor cool while increasing the pump's life
Built-in thermal overload protection prevents the motor from overheating by switching off the pump before damage is caused
The thermoplastic material resists rust and corrosion
The corrosion-resistant steel drive shaft and fasteners improve durability and prevent breakage
The thermoplastic impeller resists clogs and handles solids up to 1/8" (0.3cm) in diameter
The built-in intake screen filters out large debris to prevent clogging
Carrying handle for easy portability

Pump needs water to accumulate to work

The pump works well when there is enough water to maintain suction consistently. The longer the hose is, the harder to get to that point it becomes. We didn't have enough inches of water so found it best to bail into a bucket so the pump could direct the water outside.

I bought this pump to prevent lake ice from freezing around my lake water pickup. Plugged into a timer and runs a few hours a night to reduce ic build up around my lake water pickup. Its just big enough for the job. And uses almost no power
.

Q: looking to use this pump to pump water out of my pond in order to resurface the pond ice during winter . Iwill pump out of a hole in the ice. Will the pump run well in Cold water/freezing temps?

Q: What is the size of the hose connector ? 1 1/4 inch or 1 1/2 inch ? Canadian Tire have two kits which are different connection fittings. Due to lock down I cannot see the pump before hand to establish which one i need.

A: You do not need either of the 2 hose kits for this pump. The pump comes with a 3/4” garden hose adapter so all you need is a standard garden hose for the discharge connection.
