Took it back and bought a new one

I'm sure you can see the tens of 1 star reviews below me. I received this slow cooker for Christmas. First go, timer worked fine and all was well. The second time I set it for the time and continue with my day. come back a few hours later expecting it to have shut itself off again like last time and instead the entire meal is burnt. Did a few test runs, timer wasn't working.
I came on here and saw all the reviews of people who seemed to have bought there's around a similar time.
took mine back today and was able to purchase a better product and swap the two out (paying the difference of course).
TLDR: DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME BUY A DIFFERENT ONE
No, I do not recommend this product.

Timer stopped working

First use timer counted down from 8 hours. Second time timer stayed at 8:00. Worked but no working timer. Third time timer still not counting down. Bought only because of the digital timer. Otherwise, works well but can buy non-digital for half the price. Returning next week when in town.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Dangerous and Should Be Recalled

This product is dangerous and should be recalled.
My sister and I both received this slow cooker for Christmas. I used mine once and the timer broke. We replaced it and the timer worked for a few hours and was stuck at 4:49 for hours. It was set to "low" but our food was boiling.
My sister had the same issue with the timer and the heat settings. 0 for 3 on these slow cookers.
Save your money. The government should be notified. This is a huge hazard!

Q: The time is really off? I set it for 4 hours and then it cooked for only 3:20. Then I tested with 30 minutes and also timed it. The slow cooker quit while there were still 5 mins left on the clock? Am i doing something wrong?

A: I thought it was just a glitch with my own cooker! I've been having the same problem - set it for 3 hours at 1:30 (for example) and at 2:30 it tells me I have an hour left. Luckily, I work from home and can adjust the time as needed, but if I didn't, this would be a problem.

A: Yes, it automatically switches to the Warm setting once the cook time has finished, but it's timed to last for only 3 hours.

Q: Can you set a delayed time? For example, load everything into the cooker and program that in 30 minutes it should do 4 hours on low?

A: Contrary to the answer from the Canadian Tire team, NO it cannot! The reason for this is food safety. Raw food (especially meats) should not be left out at room temperature for any length of time. This is why slow cookers are not “start time” programmable, only length of cooking time. Food can be prepared ahead of time in the crock and kept in the fridge until ready to start cooking, then placed in the slow cooker and started right away. This is even explained in the user manual that came with mine (same brand, different model). The programming method for this model is explained in the user manual which can be downloaded from the products listing page above (scroll down to “resources”), where it only refers to programming the start time.

A: This model can only be programmed on MIN, MAX, or Keep Warm. You cannot program the temperature to 99 degrees.

A: During use, the slow cooker’s metal housing will get very warm. We advise to always use oven mitts to lift out the removable crock pot after your cooking cycle, and also to use the cool touch handles found on the lid and on each side of the unit.
