No detailed instructions

There are no detailed instructions. The package tells you how to clean & change the battery, but it doesn't tell you how to switch between Centigrade to Fahrenheit (I had to search the Q&A for this info)! In case anyone is wondering, there's a switch in the battery compartment (and it's very tiny & not easy to find).
Yes, I recommend this product.

Very strange thermometer
Looks nice but doesn’t work well
The display is in red on a black background and must tilted at very specific angle in order to read
It’s completely unreadable outside in sunlight
Gives temperature in increments of one degree whereas all others I’ve ever used give it in .10 ie 125.4
Tested it compared to one I already had and another I bought different brand and runs high!?
Hard to understand how this made it to market
No, I do not recommend this product.

A: One or both of the probe leads are broken inside. If its under warranty, get it replaced. If it's out of warranty and your handy, you can fix it with a soldering iron. Otherwise toss it in the garbage
