I have used my 610 for about 4 years now and I use it a lot in the bush.It has a close to 300 hours on it and still works like new even with the beating it has taken in rugged BC mountain terrain. As others have said it eats through batteries, the touch screen can be annoying, and the screen is hard to see in direct sunlight. ...but that's it, no other complaints. I wouldn't pay full pop on this one but when it goes on sale for half price IT IS A STEAL.

Used it several times and it sucked batteries, so on a 2-3 hour walk they were all but dead. It's tracking was random as the same walk was 9 kms one time and 13.5 kms the next. The only thing going for it is that is colour.

Great GPS, terrible battery life.

Got this as a gift for hunting season, so I've had it for about 6 months now.
Really, _really_ like the preloaded topo maps, excellent accuracy and fast satellite lock-on.
Easy waypoint setting and I never ran into the any limit of the number of waypoints.
Chews through a set of fresh alkaline batteries in about 3 or 4 hours. The expensive lithium batteries only go for about 6 hours.
I took this on a snowshoeing trek and I would have been able to follow the trail of dead batteries back to the parking lot!
Camera is moderate quality, not really a selling feature.
No, I do not recommend this product.

A: No, you need to buy the city series maps. The North America city series maps are on sale now from Magellan for $80.

A: We do not have a mount, for a gps, only a smartphone. You may try checking with auto parts department, we encourage you to communicate with your local Canadian Tire store.

A: It has a one year repair warranty against manufacturing defects. A: The Magellan GPS 610 does not include Snowmobile Trail Maps pre loaded out of the box when the user purchases a new unit. Magellan do offer this detailed mapping online for purchase by download on the Magellan website. The user can download all of the US as well as All of Eastern Canada with one simple map download.
