we wanted the ceiling fan for a bedroom to replace an older one that we had there. The white is perfect because it will go with any décor we go with. We wanted the hugger fan so it would be close to the ceiling and out of the way. We have young grandchildren who like to get up on the bed and jump and if they reach the chains on the ceiling fan they would be always pulling on them. We are very happy with our choice of fan and it looks good in the room.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Q: What kind of light bulb is needed?
There is no bulb supplied, and the socket is NOT a standard one so a normal 60w bulb will not do.

Q: Is it noisy?

A: There is some motor noise from the bearings, but no more than any other ceiling fan.
A caveat: If there is a room ABOVE where the ceiling fan is mounted, it will most likely by nosier than in the actual room that is is mounted in. This is because it transfers any vibrations from the fan and in essence turns the ceiling into a big 'sound board'.
CAUTION: These fans have significant kinetic energy when rotating. Do NOT leave these fans loosely mounted in order to try and reduce the acoustic coupling. If you want to do this, then locate and utilize some proper rubber isolation mounts.

Q: Changing Light Bulb On Hugger Ceiling Fan
Yes as ridiculous as this sounds, I can't figure out how to change the bulb on this light!!!! It came with the house so there is no available manual.
Also is it possible to replace the glass?
To make matters even worse, in my attempts I've managed to losen the light kit from the fan, but not completely. Any way to tighten?
Thanks, Thoroughly
Frustrated

A: It's not that ridiculous. As with any light fixture, if the shade is a small conical bell shaped one that the bulb is fairly close to, it makes it very difficult to hold the light socket while unscrewing the bulb and often the base will want to turn when you try to screw the bulb out. I don't have any great solution to this. As when changing any light bulb, just be sure that they power is off when you are doing this.
The shades are usually held in place by 3 small screws that have knurled knobs on them to tighten them lightly by hand. Being mounted on a fan with constant vibrations, these tend to loosen up. You want them tightened lightly but firmly. With the shades usually being glass, if too tight they can break from the vibrations of the fan being transmitted to the light shade. Check these periodically as the vibrations from the fan will tend to loosen them. Be safety conscious: do not try and do this with the fan running.
As to if it is unsafe with the light fixtures being loose, that is hard to know without actually seeing it and accessing it. Likewise with tightening it back up. If the threads are exposed, you can try using some thread lock or some other substitute as mentioned below. If you are not familiar with dangerous high voltage electrical wiring, best get a professional to take care of the problem.
You can help prevent the screws and threaded components on such things by utilizing some 'thread lock' compound. If this is not the sort of thing that you would have and otherwise use, you can use some nail polish or a drop of (oil based) paint. Be sure that all such threads are degreased and clean of oil. Many such components have a very light weight oily substance on them to prevent corrosion.
If you purchase some thread lock and want it to last along time without hardening, be aware that this is
and anaerobic compound meaning that it hardens when it does NOT have contact with air. The lids are designed to let it breath. If you have lost the lid, better off leaving it uncapped rather than plug the application opening completely.
