A really great vehicle for both play value and parts count - four-legged cranes like this are being tested in the real world for logging, but this one is used for Arctic exploration . The legs can be posed easily and stay in place thanks to the ratcheting hinges but the cabin itself doesn't rotate, the only real drawback which can be fixed easily with a 2x2 turntable and some tiles.

I really enjoyed making this model. I was having a pretty awful day and making this truly made me feel happy. It's also very cute and the self leveling feet are genius.
It's also very robust. I played around with it for a while to explore it's working parts and it felt really solid. For the price it's a lot of fun for any age!

Save the arctic with a turntable

I love the Arctic sets and so I had to get the Ice Crawler. I found the build and the final product much more interesting than I thought it would be and am very pleased I got it. I had braced myself for the cab to not swivel based upon other reviews, but was still a bit disappointed when I got it together, but for the cost of a few extra pieces, it is easily fixable and I love it now that the cab swivels.
I just added a turntable on top of a raised base consisting of a 2x4 and two 1x2’s. Split the cab from the legs, add the base and turntable, and now you have a crawler that can turn to move what it has picked up without moving the legs.
