I bought two, one for outside and other for under Rv, the outside transmitters lock up , have to keep doing a reset on them every couple days

My backyard Lacrosse sensor stopped working after 10+ years. I bought this as a replacement to use with the original larger display & it works fine. However I noticed the 4 screws & disassembled the original sensor. The problem was rust staining on the board, which entered the plastic . After cleaning it worked again & linked. So now we have a sensor for the Christmas outdoor "fridge" The best use is definitely for the freezer in the garage. I check temps frequently on the monitor in the kitchen in case the door was not fully closed.

Q: What model no. is this? A review says it uses 2 AA's on the sensor and 2 AA's on the station. Your info says 2 AAs and 3AAAs. There's a big difference in power delivery and battery life

A: An earlier version of this product that I owned used 3 AA batteries in the display. However, the one I just purchased (2025) has a display that uses the 2 of the smaller AAA batteries. I would also prefer if the display used AA batteries. Who cares if the case is slightly larger?

A: No not necessarily. On a fence post or outside window on a not heated garage would work.

A: 1. Insert batteries (as required-AA and AAA's). 2. Keep sensor and station within 5 feet apart for at least 1 minute to insure proper connections are made. 3. Mount sensor vertically on north facing wall or shaded area, under an eave or rail preferred. (maximum range 100 metres) The temperature calibrations require at least 24 hrs.

Q: CAN I use that Thermometer for the freezer? I’m looking for a thermo with a steel probe (sounding the temperature inside the apparel) and the reading would be outside the freezer. In case of hydro failure,I want to be able to read it without opening it.

A: Yes, as long as you are allowed to drill a screw hole into the siding. Keep it out of direct sunlight or it will read way too high.
