KitchenAid Artisan Series 5-Quart Tilt-Head Stand Mixer, Empire Red

Buyer beware! When making this purchase, I paid attention to the overall star rating and didn't read a ton of reviews.... this was a mistake. When you look at the comments and the feedback for individuals who have given the product a one or a two-star, you will see that the machine does not have the capacity which they advertise that it does. This machine was gifted to me but I was unable to use it for the first month. During the second month of my ownership, I started with basic things - the machine works fine for things like cookie dough or meringue. When I got around to trying to mix more dense dough for bagels, the machine was not up for the task. In fact, it would overheat in just a few minutes. YES I was using the correct speed setting. While, I recognize that stand mixing or kneading is more efficient than hand kneading, this product still cannot hold up to even basic recipe requirements of 8 to 12 minutes of stand mixing. Unfortunately for me, because the product had been used I was unable to return it for a refund and only offered an exchange. While I appreciate the store's gesture, I don't want the product as it does not deliver what it claims to be capable of delivering. When I contacted KitchenAid directly I was met with no support other than a recommendation to look at the manual. I can assure you I had read the manual and was following the instructions provided. The machine isn't capable of delivering what it claims.

I bought this mixer about 2 month ago and it's been a great purchase. I've been making bread on a regular basis and love how easy this mixer moves the dough around

Has enough power to mix cookie dough to bread dough. Love it
