An Offer I Couldn’t Refuse!

Thoughts of Keurig ownership had been brewing in my head for years (pun intended), when I saw the ad for this one. Style, colour, and price…SOLD! Fortunately it is small enough to not offend my wife too much When setting it up, noticed that the front rubber pads on the bottom were missing. Being particular about such things, I went back to exchange it, but another was so afflicted. Oh well, I have other pads at home, but realized that this could be a functional thing for water flow. Regardless, I carried on. It functions as a Keurig should, simple, fast, and hot. Since this is a secondary coffee maker, I will rarely use Pods (way too expensive), and purchased a “My K-Cup” pod (reviewed separately). As such, the results are very close to my cone-filtered, freshly ground, drip system. Overall, I am very pleased!

I like that this new machine is smaller so it takes up less counter space. The machine is also very quiet and brews my coffee quickly. I would like it if the coffee were a little hotter. Don't get me wrong, it is hot, but I like my coffee very hot. Overall, I'm very satisfied.

Q: Is the handle on top of reservoir to lift cover only or the whole reservoir to make it easier to fill?

Q: Why is there a little “handle” on top of the water reservoir?

  • A: No idea why, but it is convenient. The entire reservoir comes off for filling but it does "snap" back into place and the lid makes sure you don't spill transporting and replacing the reservoir when it is full. Probably a fashion designer's idea. It works fine, no issues and if you want a partial size serving fill your cup and pour directly into the reservoir. It brews what ever is in the reservoir and stops. As far as I can se the handle is just a useful decoration.
