    Handy but Average

I have had this drill for quite a few years now and have not had any problems at all. It is used as a spare, but it has done some heavy work as well. I've used it to bore a 3" hole thru a rim joist, drill lag bolt holes thru a steel flat panel mount, and it helped out putting on fence boards. Very good to have around the house. Price really can't be beat.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

    My "Girl" Drill

Bought this March 11th at Canadian Tire on Yonge Street just north of Bloor (near Rosedale). This is a great drill for first time power tool owners, especially us gals. I am a late twenty-something and hate relying on others, like my father or some rental place, to have things around my apartment installed. In one afternoon I installed five coat hooks (with support anchors, that's where the drill came it), a towel rack, towel ring and bathroom shelf. I did not experience any overheating because these were light duty jobs. Admittedly, I was intimidated at first though. This drill is FAST and that's it's only speed. I made a silent scream face while using it the first few times because I was terrified. I felt more confident after the third anchor I installed. If you're drilling holes above your shoulder height, use a stepping stool. Trust me, you want to be level at all times because this thing is so fast. Wear safety goggles! Drywall dust is not fun to get in your eyes. I found it easier to drill holes in one room than I did in another. Keep that in mind. The second wall I drilled holes in required an even firmer grip. For example, in my hallway, the holes went through clean and like butter but in the bathroom I had to give more of a push and that prompted lots of drywall dust. When installing anchors, go with the drill bit that is just ever so slightly larger than the plastic or metal anchor itself. I went smaller for my first attempt and that resulted in a smooshed plastic anchor that did not fit (which was fun to yank out of the wall). Learn from my mistake. Back to the drill: Good price, works fine with an extension cord if need be, super fast so keep a steady/firm/level grip, wear protective eyewear (I made due with my aviators because my stupid goggles broke), heavier than I expected, kinda loud for use in an apartment (so drill during the day) but not really loud if you live in a house and can drill without annoying your neighbours. I do NOT suggest using it as a screwdriver. It is way too fast for that. Use it to make holes for anchors. Try not to be as terrified as I was.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

    Won't Die!

Despite the abuse we put this through, we can not seem to kill this tool. We've used it for the basics, plus stripped glue off half our basement floors, mixed concrete, and did a variety of other jobs not designed for a power drill to perform. Still using it after 6 years! The only Con on this is a lack of control settings, as it has only one speed: warp-speed

    Yes, I recommend this product.
