    Light duty trimmer

I've been using this trimmer for several seasons, no problem at all. I use it to keep the shape of several globe cedars, potentillas and other small bushes. I keep it working flawlessly by following the manual instructions, including lubricating the blade, see the cord extension requirements to ensure the motor gets the proper voltage supply. According the specs you can cut up to 9/16" branches, I'll say keep it under 3/8" to avoid any problems, for branches over 3/8" use pruning shears, CT have a large assortment. Always match the tool to the application to ensure safety and satisfaction. If you have a lot to trim, like cedar edging, consider buying the Yardworks 2-Cycle Hedge Trimmer, 22.5 CC, Product #60-2004-6

    Yes, I recommend this product.

    Worst product I've ever seen

I bought this because I needed to trim my hedges. The blade is small and it was inexpensive but I have thick hedges and I knew that a long blade trimmer I'd need to get a gas powered 2-stroke hedge trimmer to have enough power. This thing didnt last more than five minutes, it's a peice of junk dont buy it. I got through about maybe 20 square feet of my hedge and the blade jammed. There is a design flaw in the blade. Most hedge trimmers have triangular blades making it easy to pull it free when it hits a thicker branch and gets stuck. Not this one. It has these weird knobules at the ends of the blades, and what happened to mine is the knob at the end of the blade actually caught the moving blade and then the 2.2A torque of the motor pulled the moving blade and warped the entire front of the blade assembly. Since the device has no reverse (although most hedge trimmers dont have reverse) there was no way to get it unstuck other than trying to pry it free with a screwdriver. It was so stuck that it bent my screwdriver. I did eventually manage to get it free, but the way the torque warped the blade it didnt run for even a second before getting stuck again. I had a job-mate cordless drill and it was just as bad so I have to blame the brand. Do not buy job-mate for anything electric. Their design team is clueless. Who would put knobules on the end of blades that move back and forth at 900 rpm?! Or make a cordless drill that didnt have enough torque to cut into wood? Go with the black and decker. This thing is just a complete disappointment. It might work for very small thin hedges that provide no resistance to cut but I cant imagine how it would not jam on someone else either. AWFUL PRODUCT. I'D GIVE IT ZERO STARS IF THAT WAS AN OPTION.

No, I do not recommend this product.
