    Don't bother

Bought 3. Filled all three to the same level. The next day the middle bag looked to be where I filled it. The other 2 were about half full. These bags do not hold water. Don't waste your money!

No, I do not recommend this product.

Jiffy rink great for kids starting and more

Great rink for those places that are not that cold during the day. Super easy to use. Set up time as quick as 30 mins including filling it.You have to have a fairly level are to put it on or level it with snow. I used this product 20years ago to build my boys a rink. You can roll it out fill it up and as long as it's -10 or colder over night the next day you can skate on it. Just pack snow around the edges water them down and when it is frozen cut the top off and leave the sides to hold the ice incase it melts during a warm period. You can put 2 or 3 or more side by side and increase the size of the rink. Great for kids just starting. Go Canada Go

    Yes, I recommend this product.

    Waste of money

DONT BUY THIS! Plastic is not strong enough to hold water. It must have to be on a completely zeroed surface or it just rolls and rips. Can't be out even 1/8 inch. Otherwise it's 5 inch thick on one end and 1/2 on the other. Could have went public skating 15 times with the $ I wasted. How do I get my money back? Canadian tire read this and have someone in product review try and set it up. I'd be better off filling garbage bags with water..... They don't rip as easy. Oh and have a nice day (a bit frustrated with the product)

Q: What do you do if the ground isn't completely level?

    • A: Below is a way to slightly level a slopping backyard. The product purchased acts as a liner and should be used in conjunction with a wooden perimeter system. Finding "level" is probably the most important part of building your rink. You MUST have 3" of ice to hold an average adult, so you need to ensure that the "shallow" area has at least 3" of water. This can be done with a line level, laser level or water level. Personally I use a laser level. Find the area that you feel is the "high" point in your rink and set and level a block of wood, so that the line of the laser is 3 1/2" above grade. Put stakes at the corners of your proposed rink and every 4 feet between the corners Point the laser at each stake and mark the point that the laser hits it Measure from the ground to that mark You now know the MINIMUM height of the board at that point If you used just that board height your ice would be flush with the board I would add 3" to that so you have boards above the ice surface to keep the puck IN THE RINK Do this at each stake Purchase the appropriate 2x? to create your frame I cut the bottom of my 2x(s) to go with the slope of my yard so that the top of the frame is level, but you do not have to do this

Q: does the ground have to be super flat and level

    • A: The ground should be as level as possible. If not level you can still use but do not disturb the bag as it is filling or freezing. We inadvertantly tried to burp the bag when the bag was set on a mild slope to remove air pockets which caused the bag to slide downhill thus losing the rink. We repeated the experience with a new bag and allowed it to freeze with very satisfactory results. Only needed to flood a couple of times afterwards in order to remove the bumps and ripples formed by the bag.

Q: Can we make the Rink size smaller? or will affect the entire system

    2 Answers
    • A: Its just a plastic bag that you fill with water. the water needs some thickness for the rink to work, and i cant see how you would be able to modify it to keep it smaller. Imagine folding a freezer bag with water. the bag is just the size it is... any folding or anything will make the surface uneven (bad for skating) and would likely break anyways from the weight of the water before it freezes.

Q: Jiffy Ice Rink Are these packs reusable year to year??

    • A: No. its just a plastic bag that you fill with water, then cut the top off with a razor to expose the surface once its frozen.

Q: JOINING THE JIFFY RINKS I will be putting 6 of them in my backyard. It will be 20 by 60 feet. I'm just not sure how to join them so that there are no spaces. How do I do that?

    • A: that's a big rink - you may be better off with the large white tarp. If you do use jiffy rink. You need to place them side by side and fill them up. once you tear the tops of them place snow in gaps between and flood with water.

    • A: L'épaisseur de la glace est dépendante à 100% sur la quantité d'eau que vous appliquez. Ce patinoire aide 'l'amateur" de patinoires avec leur capacité à créer une patinoire extérieure durant le temps froid.

    • A: Duck tape the bag by folding it prior to filling it. I've been doing it this way for 5 years now.
