I bought it in 2023 lost it in the summer and just now found it and it was still charged and working how does this happen

I've had this speaker for more than 10 years. And It still holds a charge and it still connects to my devices. And it sounds the same as it did when I purchased it. I don't think I've ever had an audio system that has lasted me this long. I recommend this speaker to everyone.

Refurbished? So disappointed!

So bummed! I bought this refurbished Flip4 and am so disappointed with it! I have a Flip4 already and love it but the sound on this one crackles low before it's at full volume. Hardly usable!

We're here to help with your JBL Flip 4. Please check the equalizer settings of your phone and set it to default. We also recommend trying to connect it with a different device or play audio using a different application. You may also try doing a Factory Reset by pressing and holding the "Volume +" and "Play" buttons at the same time for more than 3 seconds unit will power Off by itself. If you need more help, please contact our customer support.

J’ai cette enceinte depuis environ 4 mois, il me sert à m’endormir vu qu’il je suis insomniaque et quand je bricole et il n’y a pas à dire le son est trop génial et ce malgré le bruit des machines et le départ matinal de mes voisins, et le petit plus c’est qu’elle s’éteint toute seule.abf

Thanks for your feedback. We are always looking for ways to improve. If your JBL Flip 4 is not turning on, you can try these steps to see if it fixes the issue. Try to use a different charger and wall outlet to see if it helps to show the light indicator on the speaker. You can also try to do a force power cycle. If your Xtreme 2 is not charging, press and hold the power button for more than 30 seconds if it is unlocked or open the unit. If the issue remains, it would be best to contact our customer support for further assistance.

Q: Is there a way to shut off or turn down the volume of the start up noise? I like to use this speaker in a office environment but I don't like how loud the start up noise is? Is there a fix for this?

  • A: Yes, on the current Flip 4 you must download the JBL App and update Firmware that takes up to 15 minutes or so to process and afterwards you can simply turn feature off as an option on the app via iPhone or Android. I too love the product but when your living with roommates, work in office environments or want to simply stay incognito, having the option to say, you know, I can see that it’s on by the light ambient behind the device is always good enough. Unless of course, one may be visually blind.

Q: What do I do if my speaker is making a static and fuzzy noise, only having it for about 4 months? And have kept it in perfect conditions, as in not putting it in water, not blasting music, and not keeping it in hot conditions.

  • A: The flip 4 obviously has issues. I contacted JBL on my issue and it seems when the battery runs down you get the popping noise loose blue tooth connectivity and shuts off. They only offer a discount to buy another. Sorry JBL, stand behind your products. These should last much longer than what we are experiencing. Can't take a chance on another.

Q: I'm using Flip 4 to playing guitar, using the 3.5mm line in. If I don't play a note for 5 seconds, it goes into a power save mode, at which point the next note I play is not audible while it "wakes up." Possible to extend this time/disable?

  • A: Yes to remedy this simply plug the USB power into the speaker. When power is plugged in it will not go into power saving mode with audio delays.

Q: Just got the JBL Flip 4 and it doesn't have a case or charger, so I bought a case but what charger is factory recommended with this.

  • A: Thank you sudeeq73 I was going nuts because my speaker needed charging and I couldn't figure out where the charger was, I almost called and complained, then I read your post and that little box on the end is where they "hid" it on us :)

Q: I have a Flip 3 and we love it.  Looking to add 1 or 2 more and connect together to expand the sound area on my patio.  Is the connect button on the 3 compatible with the new 4? or vice-versa?

  • A: I read somewhere that you can download the JBL app on your phone. next connect to the Flip 3. then update the firmware for the Flip 3 so you can get it to connect to connect+ devices.

Q: Do Charge 3 will be updatable by usb connection from my pc? If yes, The update will include also some treble boost or a better tuning, to make charge 3 less muffled? Thank you in advance

  • A: No. The CHARGE 3's firmware can be only be updated using the JBL Connect app, downloadable on Android and iOS devices. The update will allow the speaker to pair with New JBL speaker (i.e. FLIP 4) and fix minor bugs. Also, this is a byproduct of the waterproof feature. Boosting treble in the source device's EQ should do the job.

Q: I have two Flip 4's connected to my computer monitor using a splitter and it usually works fine. However, when every the sound in the show or movie gets low the speaker completely cuts out and no audio can be heard. Solution?
