MarineWeld™ is a specially formulated two part Cold-Weld™ adhesive system that provides strong, lasting repairs for bonding different or similar surfaces, such as metal, composites, fiberglass and others. MarineWeld™ has a 1:1 mixing ratio that sets in 5 minutes at room temperature, and cures in an hour to a white color. Hey, it's glue. It sticks, it cures, it gets hard and holds stuff together. I like to have a tube on the boat all the time: it adheres to fiberglass and epoxy perfectly and fixes nicks and cuts to the surfaces of the boat.

Q: Will it bound rubber to pvc? Looking for a glue to install rubber motor mount grommet to a pvc inflatable boat.

  • A: No; epoxies don't work with flexible substrates.  You need a very specific adhesive for PVC to rubber (depending on the type of rubber).  You should go to a dealer or store that sells or services inflatable boats and ask them.

Q: Wanting to seal up a cracked tail light (red plastic). Would it work well on that? Will the white colour be very noticeable?

  • A: Better to use one of the clear adhesives specifically for rigid plastics.  In my hands the Marine JB weld is not a good quality epoxy.  It doesn't set up well in the cold and it tends to stay a bit rubbery.

Q: Can i use it to seal the collar of the valve in the boat? it is leaking air from it.

  • A: It should work fine. I used it on my car to seal a connection at a vacuum port and its working fine.

Q: Does it work on a fibreglass hot tub when the product is under water with temps of 104'F? I chiselled out a channel with a dremel abou 1/4"wide by 3" long. Used waterweld before but material starting oozing stuff out of filled area.
