used it to seal around the base where the chimney pipe sits on the fireplace, good seal but in time it will crack due to the high heat, just repatch it again.

      Fireplace, firebox tile repair

Wood burning fireplaces require a high heat cement product to work properly. Does what you need for the repair and withstands the heat produced in the firebox.

Q: Could this product be used to seal seams and elbow joints in hvac warm air ducts?

      2 Answers
      • A: You probably could. I used said cement to fill air gaps in my browning ceramic grill that had a huge air gap and it did the job perfectly so it is possible that you could use said cement for elbow joints and warm air ducts

Q: Can this product be thinned-down to fill into gaps in fire-brick easier?

      1 Answer
      • A: Yes you can, I used two pails to parge my blacksmithing forge, and my smelter/foundey and it has held up to the heat impressively... Just be cautious with the amount of water you use as you can thin it out very quickly.

Q: Can I use this product to fill cracked joints in fire bricks in a fireplace? Is it a spreadable paste that's ready to use? Thanks!

      1 Answer
      • A: Yes and yes.  First you need to clean the surfaces well.  After the cement has dried, you’ll need to ‘season’ it with a couple of small (low) fires.

Q: He was the primary ingredient as Cyanoacrylate Don’t know of any crazy glue that can withstand this kind of a temperature. I’m looking at the company literature it says nothing about Cyanoacrylate

      1 Answer
      • A: Google search: Cyanoacrylate temperature stability = Typical ethyl cyanoacrylates resist up to 180°F (82°C) with special grades resisting as high as 250°F (120°C). Generally, methyl cyanoacrylates resist 195°F (90°C). Specialty allyl cyanoacrylates can resist up to 482°F (250°C).

Q: Hi Will this product with stand minus winter weather ? I plan to use it to seal my exhaust near the engine and converter

      1 Answer
      • A: Please note that this product is used to repair wood or coal stoves, furnaces, fireplaces and flues. Can be used to fill gaps between masonry and metal. Prevents air and gas leaks in flue and chimney joints. Meets or exceeds ASTM C 199 Pier test. It is only for Interior Use. NOT for Exterior Use. We would not recommend this product for the application mentioned above.
