Q: Can this unit be hooked up to a 12V deep cycle marine battery?

A: Yes, but it is recommended you also put in an in-line fuse.

Q: Does this come with a rechargeable battery? I thought the new Portable PiranhaMAX units did, but can't find info on a battery with this one. Same thing on Humminbird's website.

A: Yes - Included in box is a 7-Amp Hour battery with wall charger.
