this safe is big and very heavy so if ever somebody wants to steal it, they'll have a hard time getting it out.... good buy!

Disappointing

This safe is nice and heavy, so it seems good BUT the electronics didn't work. In other words, it was defective. After all the hard work of carrying upstairs (one person can't carry it), we had to carry it back down and return it. Disappointing.
No, I do not recommend this product.

I purchased this safe on March 20th and the keypad will not work. I tried other batteries and still not working. The package clearly reads "Do Not Return to Store". I tried calling Honeywell on both their 1-800 and direct customer support lines outlined on their website and their product documentation. Both numbers are disconnected. The customer service e-mail shown on their website and product documentation bounces back. The safe was a good deal but I need it working. What do I do now?

Q: Is it safe for handgun storage?

A: It is a safe if you make it a safe: "Lock the firearms in a vault, safe or room that was built or modified specifically to store firearms safely." (http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/cfp-pcaf/fs-fd/storage-entreposage-eng.htm). What this means is that if it was not designed for pistol storage, it is a "container" and you can store your pistols there but the trigger locks must be on. If you glue a mat to the bottom or make a rack inside, you modified it for storing firearms and it becomes a safe according to our wonderful gun laws - that means, no need for trigger locks. Here is mine (an older Honeywell). I do choose to keep the triggers locked anyway.

Q: What happens when the battery goes?

A: Change the batteries. They are accessible on the digital keypad on the front right side of the safe. You can also use an emergency key which is provided to open the safe without having to use the digital keypad.

A: Yes the safe can be bolted to the floor but you would have to drill your own holes and provide your own hardware. I suspect it would void any warranty if you drilled any holes.

A: The 2115 does not come with a Bolt down kit. This safe however is over 180lbs. dead weight and is equipped with an audible “tilt” alarm. So if attempts are made to physically move it while alarm is armed – it will trigger a siren type alarm.
