Another outstanding tool from the hitachi line

I am replacing a 14.4v ni-cad Hitachi drill that I have had for over 12 years(only replacing it because I wanted something a little lighter). I have found that this new 12v li-ion has just as much power and better battery life. I really like this kit because it includes the impact driver, drill driver and light. I have used Hitachi tools for many years and totally recommend this kit for any DIYer who is looking for a quality, reliable, reasonably priced tool to tackle a large variety of around the house to do lists.

Battery Charger DOA

The battery charger was DOA. I read many other poor reviews of this product, to include the battery charger issues. I decided to buy a the Bosch CLPK27-120 12-Volt Max Lithium-Ion 2-Tool Combo Kit instead for the same price. I am very happy with the Bosch.

Q: What is the actual warranty on the hitachi hxp combo (eg makita has 3yr tool and 1yr battery and charger)

A: The warranty on the box says 10 years / 2 years, but if you notice in the warranty flyer inside the package it says "Professional 5 years tool / 1 year battery", so it can be very confusing, as in "10/2 for home use and 5/1 for professional use" when in fact it IS 10/2 like the previous poster said (I stand corrected in my review of the tool).
