    Solid Router

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this several years ago when I knew my old router was on its way out. Didn’t have any plans to purchase this specific brand but it was priced right and had the simple straight forward design I liked about the old Porter Cable. It has a soft start and a plenty of power for most things I do. It’s comfortable to hold although I usually keep it mounted to a table insert and use the cordless for handheld tasks.
    ProsDependability, Quality, Durability, Power, Weight

    Yes, I recommend this product.

I was looking for a basic hand-held router that would be convenient when I needed it. Actually, this one was very reasonable and I already owned several Metabo (and the old "Hitachi" named) power tools. I wasn't disappointed. It feels like a professional tool, set's up in a familiar way and runs like a "Ferrari". Yes, the quality of the cutter is important but even mid-priced cutting tools act better with this router. It holds steady as a rock and the power is phenomenal. No strain, no chattering, no nothing but cutting. On top of that, my primary wood components are hardwood and quite a bit of exotic woods. I especially like the results on Birdseye Maple! Again, smooth and no chattering so the finish is beautiful right off the bat. This is a "pro's" tool as is so many other Metabo offerings.
ProsEase of use, Speed, Dependability, Durability, Reliability, Power, Weight

    Yes, I recommend this product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's pretty basic, but gets the job done. There's plenty of power for typical applications, & depth adjustments are easy. The rubber knobs & lever-actuated motor lock are nice touches. All in all, it's a good value.

Some really great features. Very light for a 2.25 HP router. I like very much that the template guide adapter (323-272) mounts to the sub-base (323-265) and is included w/ the router. The only drawback is that the outer diameter of the motor is 3.2634 inches (82.89mm). Given that the standard for all router lifts is 4.2 inches (106.68 mm) for 3.25 HP router moters and that almost all router lift manufactures make inserts for 3.5 inches, 2.25 HP router moters. It would have been advantageous for Hikoki to have increased the outer diamter to enable using this moter in a router table with a lift.
    ProsValue, Features, Weight

    Yes, I recommend this product.
