Product Details

The Hillman Flat Head Phillips, Self-Drilling, No-Pre Drilling, Sharp Threads, 12-24 x 2-1/2-in, guarantee a fast and easy installation. Self-drilling screws allow drilling and fastening to be done in the same motion, saving you time and effort. The flathead Phillips design and sharp threads provide a secure grip, while the large size range makes them suitable for a variety of projects. Simply place the screw point on your material and twist - the point will bore its own hole as you fasten, negating the need for pre-drilling. Ideal for use on wood, fibreglass, and metal surfaces where speed and ease of use count.

  • Hillman Flat Head Phillips Self-Drilling Screw for use in wood, fiberglass and metal, with a drill point enabling it to drill its own hole in thin gauge steel

  • The sharp threads create their own mating thread when drilled into the material

  • No pre-drilled pilot holes necessary

  • Size: 12-24 x 2-1/2"

About 25% failed to drill through, these are expensive to not work properly

    Not very sharp or hard.

They are not very sharp or very hard steel. I had to use a lot of force to get them to drill through very mild and thin steel.

Q: Is there 6" plus self tap screws? Needed to install blinds in a concrete building with metal headers

    1 Answer
    • A: 6" and larger length screws used in Concrete would need to be pre-drilled and not self-tapped. Lag Bolts of appropriate length and diameter pre-drilled would be the best option depending on the substrates and weight requirements for your project
