[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My kids were thrilled to open their Hatchimals CollEGGtibles 12-Pack Egg Carton when they returned from school today! They had so much fun each picking out their eggs and rubbing the hearts until they turned from purple to pink and started to hatch! What I especially loved about the CollEGGtibles is that they are interactive and great for both boys and girls. It's also wonderful that the egg carton serves as a neat carry case for each figurine. My kids have spent the last few hours excitedly playing with their CollEGGtibles Hatchimals and getting along swimmingly!

Both my son and daughter love nurturing and "bring to life" their new "friends" It's not often that I can find toys that appeal to both kids so that's a major win for this mom! As soon as I saw this product, I decided to use it as a reward for when they do their chores. A 12 pack gives each kid 6 rewards which is a great value for such a fun, innovative product. They love caring for them, the suspense of when it will hatch, trading with each other and growing their collection. I will be purchasing many more CollEGGtibles in the future! Great product!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This set of collectable toys was interesting. There was quite a bit of explaining that I had to do with my daughter before she completely bought into the idea. At first we didn't really understand the purpose as she had never really intentionally collected anything other than blocks. However, once we opened the toy, found the map inside, and then went to the website an watched the videos, we had a better idea of what it was we were supposed to do with the product. Another thing about watching the video that I realized is maybe this might be a little better for older girls (mine is 7) that are more into collecting just for the sake of collecting. Rubbing the egg before opening it was a nice touch to create a bond with the toy and the fact that the shell is lifelike to a real egg shell made opening the eggs interesting. However, having 12 egg shells laying around after finding all of the toys was a little messy but nothing to complain about. The actual "Hatchimals" themselves were super cute and we were able to incorporate them easily into the other games that we play like "boats" and "house." There is a good amount of variety with the collection so you look forward to not getting the same one twice in the beginning. I believe that watching the video before buying the product really helps to explain the whole point of the toy. Had I not seen the video, I probably would have not purchased it just by seeing it on a shelf. What I would have wanted to known before purchasing the product is that it comes with a map, checklist, and explanation of "Hatchtopia." Knowing that those things were included (as well as knowing that additional downloables were available) would have made me more confident that we could figure out this toy and enjoy it together. The outside packaging said nothing about those things being included on the inside. Also, I would I would have known how many were in the entire collection before making a purchase. Something like "12 of 70" would have helped me understand the future investment I would be making for a series of toys for my child. Other than that I really enjoyed the collectables as did my daughter. We enjoyed imagining we were living in Hatchtopia and enjoyed the idea that each egg had something different in it. The packaging was cute but could have been more informative. I was also quite excited that it came with it's own egg case so that they have a "space" to live after the hatching fun is over. Over all, it's a fun and cute toy and I would certainly recommend it to a friend or buy more pieces. But I would definitely encourage others to view the videos first from the product website!
