Love this kettle

I have always used a kettle on the stove and notice sentiment in the water. I purchased this electric glass kettle and love the product. Gives me peace of mind when I am drinking my tea or just the warm water. Also love the color when it is warming up the water.

Does not shut off

Fire hazard. This kettle continues to boil 50% of the time. Auto shut off is faulty. Don’t walk away from it.

A: Because this kettle regularly boils itself dry (yes, we all know that the lid has to be snapped shut, unlike other kettles), I can confirm that does eventually shut off.

Q: What is meant by "cordless base"? No cord at all? battery operated? Or simply that there is a cord but it's retractable?

A: It's just typical advertising deception. There's a corded base the the "cordless" kettle sits on. A better "cordless" kettle would be the old style that sits on a stove burner :-)
