Greenworks 40V Top Mount Grass Trimmer, 12-in

Bought this as is was on clearance for 100.00 bucks off. This thing is awesome. Does my whole yard on less than a quarter charge...My arms are tired now....

My old trimmer died at the end of last season and it took a while to get a new one, therefore I had some pretty mean grass/weeds to clean up. This unit is powerful enough and has good run time. I've only used it 3-4 times and here is my initial impression: Pros: - Powerful enough to tackle thick, tall grass and weeds - Battery charges very fast - Pretty good run time Cons: - I would have been nice if the screws for the guard were actually included in the package - they were missing, so the guard does fall off occasionally - Greenworks advertises a feature in the specs and on the box, but after that point, you won't find any mention of it. Nothing in the manual. Nada. Zilch. And that is the variable speed feature. Where is the button? How does it work? How many speeds are available? It's one big mystery. On their site they point to the safety button, but that's about it. Hmmm, I'm rather perplexed. - The guard is too small, almost useless. Expect to be covered in grass. - The auto line feed system baffles me. Every time the trimmer is turned off and on, the line extends and cuts off excess. Say what? I have a large property with many areas far apart and have to turn it on and off quite frequently. Also when shooing away deer flies or stopping to get the piece of grass that flew up my nostril (from the tiny guard). Guess I'll be wasting a whole lot of string. Good thing I string it myself. Well it was on sale so I guess I shouldn't complain too much. I know there are newer, improved versions that cost a lot more. But if you are considering purchasing, I hope this review helps.

I was surprised at how well it works, better than I thought it would. This is my 4th 40v Greenworks tool and I love using all of them. I say 1 full battery can do about as much as a tank of gas, but much more pleasantly.

The trimmer was easy to assemble. The charger topped up the battery in about an hour. I trimmed my 1/3 acre property using only half the battery. There is a small lag between pulling the trigger and the engine engaging unlike a corded one but it produces a very powerful cut even on long grass. For larger jobs it could use a shoulder strap.

J'ai acheté ce produit en mai 2019. Attention, pour le même prix, il y a sur les tablettes un model avec batterie 40V 2Ah et un autre de 40V 4Ah... c'est indiqué sur la boîte, pas en gros caractère mais c'est inscrit ! Le coupe bordure fonctionne à merveille, très puissant et il y a bobine de rechange dans l'emballage. Je met seulement 4 étoiles à cause de l'histoire des emballages avec une batterie 2Ah, sans cela ce serait 5*...
